Brass is an "alloy" made of copper and zinc.

Because of the change of zinc content, the performance of brass also changes.

Pressure processing performance

Single Phase Brass (copper content 63.5%-96%) has good plasticity, can withstand hot and cold processing, but the single-phase brass in forging and other hot processing prone to medium temperature brittleness.

Two-phase brass (copper content 57%-63%) should be forged in hot state, if the copper content is less than 54%, because the performance is hard and brittle, cannot carry on the pressure processing

Mechanical properties

Because of the different zinc content in brass, the mechanical properties are not the same. The plasticity of two-phase brass at room temperature always decreases with the increase of Zn content. Therefore, Cu-Zn alloy with zinc content exceeding 45% has no practical value.

In general, the cold deformation of the processing of single phase brass thermal deformation of dual-phase brass. Copper content in 57%-63% of the dual-phase brass can withstand hot processing, many of the mechanical and electrical parts, stamping parts and musical instruments.

GB H59, Cu content is 57%-60%, not within the scope of the non-standard, the current market some factories in order to save costs, the general Cu content will be less than 57%. The service life of the parts will be greatly reducedBrass is an "alloy" made of copper and zinc.
